Naturopathy
Naturopathy is primary health care that uses the wisdom of the ages – treatments that have been practiced for hundreds of years. It focuses on the prevention and treatment of disease and injury while also placing an emphasis on continued optimal health. Naturopathy treats the body as a dynamic organism that seeks to be in regulatory balance, both internally and in dynamic interaction with the environment. As such, naturopathy focuses on treatments that cover all aspects of health, concentrating on the whole person. Using natural remedies, naturopathy does not simply treat symptoms – it attempts to find and treat the underlying cause of the condition.
At your first naturopathic consultation, the Naturopathic Doctor will conduct a thorough interview, encompassing your complete health history. We recommend you bring with you any diagnostic or blood test results within the previous six months that relate to your initial concern. We also suggest you bring with you any current medications, supplements or natural remedies you are taking.
Nutrition
Holistic nutrition is based on the science and principles that our diet and daily nutritional habits are directly linked to our overall health and wellbeing. Marsha Fenwick’s personalized assessment and nutrition protocol takes a broad approach to looking at the body as a whole with a focus on the underlying and root causes of the client’s health concerns, complementing your overall health management.
Marsha analyzes your diet and lifestyle through evidence based nutritional research. This information is integrated and used to create an optimized and personalized nutrition and lifestyle plan that is sustainable for the long term.
Osteopathy
In Canada, an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (DOMP) provides a form of integrative manual therapy that views the body within the framework that the body functions as a unit and not as individual parts alone. The body is viewed as a whole, including organs, fluids, nerves, muscles, and bones, all working dynamically together. In other words, your body is a complex living energetic machine with many parts and systems that interact and affect each other’s functioning in a reciprocal fashion. The goal of osteopathy is not only to treat symptoms, but the intention is also to look for the root cause of a concern.
Olga Voevodskaya, DOMP, RMT uses her special gentle touch to detect tension, stiffness, lack of hydration, congestion, restricted or hyper mobility, and reduced circulation and energy flow within your body. Very small changes can provide clues to malfunctioning systems and disrupted interrelationships that contribute to your symptoms. Corrections can then be made using a wide range of osteopathic techniques. With Olga’s RMT background, her therapeutic techniques are even broader, and she will include registered massage therapy techniques when needed.
Massage Therapy with Osteopathic Approach
Olga Voevodskaya is a Registered Massage Therapist in addition to an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, which broadens her therapeutic techniques. During a Massage Therapy with Osteopathic Approach treatment, Olga will use the selective techniques from both disciplines that best suit for your therapeutic needs. This treatment is eligible to be claimed on insurance as Registered Massage Therapy.
